New Member training

Everyone needs to agree to the OPSEC, get the GES rating and 101 card by taking the 116 General ES test and the FEMA IS-100 course. Seniors also must complete the Level 1 training. This page will guide you through these processes.


Do this first

 Before you can do anything, you need to establish an account on eServices. Use the link above to get to the eServices logon, then use the link on that page to activate your account. It may be helpful to bookmark the logon page.

  • After establishing your account, log into eServices and update your personal information using the link under "My Info." This information needs to be in the system before you can get your 101 card, so you might as well get it in there now.


    Then do these (Cadets can skip step 3 if they wish
    Foundations courses: OPSEC, CPPT, History, Equal Opportunity
     Take the online courses and quizes. Follow the instructions on that page. Cadets are not required to take the CPPT (Cadet Protection) course unless they are 18 years old. They MUST take it upon reaching 18. Completing these online courses will earn senior members the Membership ribbon.
  • Print out any certificates. We recommend printing 2 copies -- one for the Personnel Officer and a copy for you. Print an additional copy of the OPSEC for the Emergency Services Officer.


    Finally do these
    FEMA IS-100 course: eServices/CAP Online Courses and Exams/116 pt 1 General ES/Intro to Incident Command System
     Click on Introduction to Incident Command System , I-100; read the intructions; then take the test (link on top right).
  • Pilgrim policy is that EVERY member have a 101 card in case of a major disaster. It is better to be prepared than have to train during a crisis. Also, we want to be able to call everyone, not just a select few on a list. Print out any certificates. We recommend printing out 3 copies of the certificate, one for the ES Officer, one for Personnel and one for yourself.

     Under "Select test", click on 116 - General ES and take that test.
